Office Links for January

January 25, 2010JP1 CommentRate This Article

I'm starting a new category on this blog. It will contain the occasional links post and commentary on various Office sites and blogs. I'll try to do this once or twice a month. Check out Office Cafe to read all the posts in this category.

Now let's bleed some PageRank!

Excel MVP Andrew Engwirda has created some neat games in Excel.

Number Shuffle
Word Search
Battleships

And the JMT Excel Utilities add-in has a Games section. The new transparency feature he's added almost makes me wish I had Excel 2007, so I could "dim the lights" when the boss comes by.

Jon Peltier is building an Excel add-in, and sharing his techniques. Start with Part One and continue from there.

Simon Murphy posted his 2010 predictions, he's pretty accurate so you should read further.

Geoff goes through Dictionary and Collection objects in Dictionary vs Collection. Check it out if you need a runthrough on how each one works.

Access 2010 is removing some components you might be using in your databases. If so, visit the Access team blog to find out what is changing in the new version.

That's it for now! See you next time.
