New webstore

Check out the new Amazon webstore now available from my site:

Webstore

Just like the targeted VBA custom search engine, which only indexes code-related sites, through the webstore you can now browse and purchase ONLY VBA, Excel and Outlook related titles from Amazon.com, right from this website. No need to wade through useless books you'll never buy just to find the ones you really want. All of the books listed on the Programmer's Library are here, in the "My bookshelf" section.

Enjoy,
JP

Data Filter Tool and dmoz.org announcement

Good morning,

I am pleased to announce that the Data Filter Tool add-in has been completed. I will be posting a fuller announcement on The Coding Pad, but for now I would like to make this add-in available for anyone who wants to try it.

Link:
Data Filter Tool Add-In

Enjoy and please let me know how it works for you.

Also I would like to let everyone know that this website is now listed on dmoz.org. Dmoz (AKA The Open Directory Project) is "the largest, most comprehensize human-edited directory of the Web." This site is listed directly in the main VBA category! Check it out:
http://www.dmoz.org/Computers/Programming/Languages/Visual_Basic/VBA/

Hopefully this will mean more people will be able to browse this website and find the code useful.

In the meantime I am working on several more pages that spin off the main Excel and Outlook pages, keep checking back for newly added code.

Data Filter Tool Add-in Update

Here is the screenshot of the Data Filter Tool I promised (sorry it's late!):
I have been doing a lot of testing, refining the code, etc.. and it seems to be working well. I expect to release this add-in within the next week after some final testing.
Enjoy,
JP

Data Filter Tool Add-In - Coming Soon

I am working on an Excel add-in called 'Data Filter Tool' that lets you auto-filter a range and copy or move matching rows to a new workbook. It is similar to Ron de Bruin's EasyFilter (http://www.rondebruin.nl/easyfilter.htm), but much simpler and easier to use (in my opinion) because it is a single purpose tool.

I decided to write this add-in because copying matching rows to a new worksheet seems to be requested in both in the Excel newsgroups and in "real life" over and over. Hopefully this will aid some of those people who are looking for an easy automated solution.

First you would select your range (via RefEdit Control) then specify the column and data item you want to filter (in separate combo boxes). You can specify if you want the rows moved or simply copied. Click 'Apply' and the add-in copies or moves the matching rows to a new workbook.

This tool will be available for download from this website, and the release announcement will be posted on The Coding Pad (http://codingpad.maryspad.com/) for which I will be doing a guest post.

I'll post a screenshot of the userform later today or tomorrow.

Enjoy,
JP
